SUMMARY
The Board of
Education conducted the following business:
- Approved
Policy DDFC – Guidelines for Student Fund Raising Activities.
- Reviewed
the school bus arrival and departing schedules for 2004-2005.
Included were changes in the evening pick up for parents at MES to
include using both “loops” for parents.
- Discussed
the school bond survey. Approximately
100 surveys have been returned from the community.
The Board agreed to send the survey to all employees to gather their
input as well.
- Requests
were approved for student transfers.

STATEMENT ACCOMPLISHMENTS:

Pack:
Commended on the good job being done in securing personnel for all
positions. Pleased with the
fine staff being provided to the schools.
- Mr.
Fertig: Noted that the High
School Bands did a great job in the Poultry Parade.
The band directors are doing a great job.
- Mr.
Park: Reported on the work
being done by the MHS band and commended the students and Director.
The upcoming Band Camp will be a great opportunity for students.
- Mr.
Williams: Reported on the
Tri-County Fair. Numerous staff
and students from Hardy County involved.
- Mr.
Whetzel: Commended the work
done at the Poultry Association Youth Day and the outstanding participation
of students from Hardy County and many other areas.
Distributed copies of the Cumberland Times article on the Education
Station Broadcast.

of the Hardy County Board of Education will be August 16, 2004 at 7:00 p.m.
