Regular School Board Meeting

SUMMARY

 

The meeting began with several employee recognitions:

 

Appreciation was extended to both individuals for their outstanding accomplishments.

 

The Board received information on the increased enrollment funds for 2003-04.  The amount of $79,324 was received from the State allocation.  The Superintendent indicated that this was a help; however, due to the cost for the additional 42 students in teachers, supplies, textbooks etc. it is still short of the actual cost.

 

The Board spent time reviewing the proposed changes to State Policy 2510 that is out for public comment.

 

The Board reviewed the improvement grants awarded to MMS and EHEM.  These grants will provide funding for professional development, materials, after-school tutoring and summer school.
