SUMMARY

Mr. Whetzel presented proposed re-organization of the Central Office staffing due to impact of retirements and needs to address expectations of NCLB on a comprehensive approach to student achievement. Discussion was held on the various revisions. New postings are to be presented at the next Board meeting.

Veeta Burgess, School Business Official, reviewed the annual budget for 2005-2006 to the Board. Discussion was held on various aspects of the budget.

Mr. Whetzel presented the Board with the work that has been done with regard to the Five-Year Strategic Plan and an overview of the work that remains to be done. The Board members participated in the activity being conducted among staff and community regarding identification of goals, objectives, and strategies.

The next meeting of the Hardy County Board of Education, which is the reconvened meeting of March 21, 2005, will be held Tuesday, April 19, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. at the School Board Office.
