SUMMARY

 

Budget Close Out:

 

Mrs. Veeta Burgess, School Finance Officer, presented the end-of-the-year budget close-out information.  She included an overview of the budget process, general budget information and the current financial status of Hardy County Schools.  While the system ended up with a $24,729 surplus, this is less than previous years.  Current year funding will be affected by the number of positions over formula.

 

MIS Update / Actions:

 

Mrs. Beverly Coppe, interim Principal for the new Moorefield Intermediate School, was introduced to the Board.  She discussed her initial plan for working on organization, curriculum and parent/community involvement.

 

The Board approved the Archeological Contract for the new school.

 

The Board reviewed the interior plans for the facility.  Their recommendations, as well as that of several members of the MIS Facilities Committee will be forwarded to the architects.  A meeting of the entire committee will be scheduled for early September to review the plans.

Extra Duty Service Personnel Positions

¬         Bus Operator – Extra Duty Run – From MHS to SBCTC in the afternoon daily.  Will be paid at $25.00 per day, as service provided.

¬         Transportation Aide – Extra Duty – Special Education Student, responsible for lifting, health and transportation duties.  Day begins at Beans Settlement at 6:45 a.m., ride bus to Old Mill Creek School, and return in the evening, as needed.  Salary based on hourly rate of pay, as service provided.
