SUMMARY
School Improvement Presentations:
? Board Book Study: Ms. Barbara Whitecotton presented information on the Data Analysis initiative utilized by the schools system and the use of the strategies as presented in Compelling Conservations as a tool to improve student achievement. Board members were presented copies of the book, as it will be a book study for the summer of 2007.
New Business:
? The Board received notification that the SBA did not approve the MIP proposal for replacement of electrical service at MHS. However, in the letter it was mentioned that consideration of a new high school should be made. The Superintendent is to contact them regarding the specifics of this statement.
? An update was provided on the MES roofing projected schedule to be funded after July 1, 2007.
? An update was provided on the GASB and PEIA accounting and funding proposals.
? The Board reviewed the SBVTC Summer Academy program.
? Mr. Max Park and Mr. Kenneth Pack gave a report on the WVSBA Leadership meeting they attended.
? A delegation of parents and students from EHHS approached the Board about the providing of Spanish III next year and the identification of Spanish Classes for Honors credit.

? Larry Salyers commented on the Board responsibilities. Informed the Board that he had contacted the State Attorney General regarding recall of several Board members.
? Laurel Look commented to the Board about the availability of transportation for athletic teams at EHHS.

Mission Statement Accomplishments:
? Mr. Ray Funkhouser congratulated East Hardy High School for the success of their Baseball Team.
? Mr. Kenneth Pack gave thanks to parents and citizens for input into needs of school system.
? Mr. Max Park noted he had attended three FFA Banquets and they were excellent. Commended the High School FFA Chapters for their state achievements.
? Mr. Rick Perkins thanked the students from EHHS for their good job. Commended the first time state track champions from MHS.
? Mrs. Margaret Shrive commended the leadership and work of the young men and woman who put on the FFA Banquets.
? Mrs. Sharon Hammer noted the achievements of: Rebecca Sine, Christina Colby and Bethany Shirt for selection into Governors Honor Academy: Tyler Kerr, EHEMS and Alisha Greenwalt, MMS for selection into the Math and Science Academy; and reported that AP History has received national approval.
? Ms. Barbara Whitecotton commended the Ag Teachers and Librarians for their outstanding work.
? Mr. Ronald Whetzel recognized MMS and EHEMS for their work on the Cardiac Project for students and the work of Peggy Wright and Judith Hedrick, School Health Nurses.
