OPTIONS FOR
BECOMING A SUBSTITUTE TEACHER
- Complete the
Substitute Teacher Training conducted by RESA VIII. Call Lori Smith at
304-267-3595 ext. 127 for dates, times and additional information.
- Complete the
online course called Substitute Teacher Training through WVU Extended
Learning. This course is offered year-round with a cost of $155.00. For
further information please contact Sherry Kuehn at 1-800-2LEARN2.
OPTIONS FOR
SUBSTITUTE RENEWALS
- Complete the
18-hour workshop offered by RESA VIII. Contact Lori Smith for further
information regarding the 18-hour workshop. (See Registration Form to
register for training)
- Complete 12
clock hours of in-service training, including but not limited to classroom
management and teaching strategies. Professional Development Activities are
offered at the county/school level during the year. You may attend any of
these activities within a three-year period. Please contact your county
office for information on activities. (See Renewing Certificate Form)
- Complete the
online course called Substitute Teacher Renewal Training through WVU
Extended Learning. This course is offered year-round with a cost of
$155.00. For further information please contact Sherry Kuehn at
1-800-2LEARN2.
