Hello, Moorefield Elementary families! This is Principal Kendra Molen. I want to welcome you to the 2026–2027 school year! I am so excited to meet our students and families and look forward to a wonderful year together.

Here is a quick reminder about this week’s schedule:

**Tuesday, August 25:** 1st and 2nd grade students attend.
**Wednesday, August 26:** Kindergarten Group A attends.
**Thursday, August 27:** Kindergarten Group B attends.
**Friday, August 28:** All kindergarten students attend.
**Tuesday, September 8:** Pre-K begins.

For students attending tomorrow, please remember to **send a note with your child telling us how they will be getting home from school**. This is especially important for the first day so we can ensure every child gets home safely.

Emergency Prescribed Medication Parental Requirements **Important Information- WVBE Policy-10.1.g-Medication Administration- requires emergency prescribed medications be available in the school building WITH a Hardy County School Medication Order form completed by both the guardian and the doctor PRIOR to attending school. ** If a student requires emergency medications, they may NOT attend school without the medication AND completed order form. Thank you in advance for your cooperation and the prompt delivery of the necessary medications to keep your child safe in school. If you have any questions, please contact your school nurse.

Hardy County Schools will be closed on Monday, May 25 in observance of Memorial Day.

This is a reminder that Monday, April 20 is a three-hour early release for faculty Senate.

Correction: Please note that students and staff will return on April 7.
